When in France....

The open air food market down the street

It's a beautiful sunny day in Paris. So am up early (well, by 'early' I mean 8.30am) in order to go to the weekly outdoor food 'marche' around the corner but of course there are a few things that it takes time to get used to when in France. How shall I say this? They like to do things a little 'differently' here so, for instance, instead of a market that closes at 1.30pm opening at say, 6 or 7am they like to open around 10 or so (depending on the mood of the day of course). Also, instead of being able to change a train ticket electronically on line one must line up in a (very long) line at a crowded train station only to be told to return the next day...
Yet, whilst in Paris these things (along with the bad parking, dog poo-filled streets and the general smell of urine in the metro) can seem insignificant (in Adelaide of course I would be writing letters of complaint as those of you who know me well would be well aware). So, whilst I wait for the market to open here are some shots of us soaking up the general ambiance of the place.

  1. Sounds mindboggling....and yet your coping without your usual bursts of stroppiness!!!! Dog poo sounds challenging though. Hope bountiful french champagne makes up for such short comings
