Paris sightseeing

Well we have managed to do some of the touristy things in Paris without being too overwhelmed by crowds. Saturday was a beautiful clear sunny day so we decided to head to the Sacre Couer Basilica in Montmartre. We were a bit worried that the beautiful weather would mean the place was overrun with tourists and the lines would be long, but this wasn't the case.

After climbing some 300 steps in a very confined space we were rewarded with amazing 360 degree views of Paris. Well worth the climb.

On Monday we decided to tackle the Tour Eiffel. We had prepurchased tickets to avoid the line-up, though this didn't avoid the waiting in line at each level for the lifts. While earlier in the morning it was threatening rain, by mid afternoon it had cleared just in time for our trip up the tower. It was pretty windy though and you could feel the tower moving which was a little scary.

  1. Wow, these are spectacular shots. Have you taken a look at Notre Dame? Italy must be beckoning soon - it almost looks like you won't be able to tear yourselves away from Paris for further travels!

PS Love the car parking video - you don't see that in all those French movies ...
