OK, Venice is tourist city so even though it is officially the end of the tourist season (that began in June) we are still surrounded by lots of Americans with their big cameras, 'bum' bags and backpacks. Mmmm....need I say more.
After dark, however, it a different story when many of the tourists seem to leave the island and the Venice streets become peaceful and you can wander many of them on your own. It is truly amazing and photos/descriptions cannot convey it as anyone who has been here will know.
Here are a few photos from our final night in Venice where we took a Gondola ride (very over-priced!) and had dinner at one of the few non-Italian eateries around (there is only so much pasta and pizza these vegan girls can endure, chinese beancurd was welcome relief!).
